70MM in San Francisco

The Castro Theatre is running a series of films in 70MM in September, four of which are top pics in our poll:
- 09/18 Patton
- 09/19-20 Lord Jim
- 09/21 Ghostbusters
- 09/21 Lifeforce
- 09/22-23 Lawrence of Arabia
- 09/24 Starman
- 09/24 Brainstorm
- 09/25-26 2001: A Space Odyssey
- 09/27 Total Recall
- 09/27 Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Movies projected in 70MM are amazing (especially those filmed in 70MM). They are brighter, more colorful and more realistic looking than anything in theatres today, especially the expensive digital projectors that so many theatres are wasting their money on. If you live anywhere near San Francisco, check out this series!

Note that Patton and Total Recall are also part of a tribute to the film music of Jerry Goldsmith, which also includes the following 35mm screenings:
- 09/28 The Omen
- 09/28 Seconds
- 09/29 Planet of the Apes (1968)
- 09/29 Our Man Flint
- 09/30 Star Trek: The Motion Picture
- 09/30 Twilight Zone: The Movie
- 10/02 Poltergeist
- 10/02 Outland
- 10/03 Papillion
- 10/03 The Ballad of Cable Hogue
- 10/04 Chinatown
- 10/04 L.A. Confidential

Brett, did you ever get to the UPTOWN THEATRE in D.C.? I'm still looking for a review of that one.
