Blade Runner Report
I saw Blade Runner at the Castro Theatre last night (7PM) and was blown away.
The film looked stunning. Bravo to the restoration team for using 4k digital intermediates instead of the more common 2k. And thank you for striking 35mm prints!
The Castro Theatre did an excellent job. The picture was steady as a rock, vivid, and bright. The sound was booming and enveloping. My only complaint was that a bit too much of the image was projected off the edges of the screen.
There were 200-300 people in attendance (all respectfully quiet), and the usher reported that it had been very busy, especially on the previous weekend.
Blade Runner leaves the Castro Thursday, but is still playing in a few theatres across the US. If at all possible, see it on the Big Screen!
